4th National Indigenous Drug and Alcohol Conference

Overview

The conference will be focused on addressing the theme, Showing initiative: AOD interventions required to Close the gap by 2030. It will highlight some of the interventions required to deal with the harmful effects that alcohol and other drugs have on health and life expectancy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The conference will also outline some of the emerging alcohol and other drug related issues that may potentially increase the gap in healthcare if suitable interventions are not utilised.

A pre-conference workshop will be available with a focus on amphetamine type stimulants including crystal meth or ‘ice’ as it is commonly referred to. The topics covered in the pre-conference will relate to the information in the conference itself.
